Headland Cafe, Valla.

The mid-north coast was always a boring place in between Home and the Gold Coast. A long drive, which often left you void of healthy food options.

Until recently, i have discovered a whole heap of hidden treasures like beautiful isolated beaches, pumping little cafes joisting local banter and beautiful bush tracks that lead you to small inlets. You have to be willing to take a turn off the main highway. This little cafe is very special to me because my love proposed to me, only a few hundred meters from here and we celebrated with a coffee for him and a tea for me.

Headland Cafe sells local produce and they have a yummy  menu that is a little bit naughty with headings such as Fried Goodness, they have a local cake lady who makes intriguing cakes such as Red Velvet Beetroot Cake and Chilli Chocolate and Zuchinni Cake!? As it was early in the morning, i opted for a fresh juice and a slice of the Citrus Pistachio Cake with a pot of Peppermint Tea. Delicious. The cake was moist and heavy, but somehow light and refreshing. Even nicer knowing that it was locally made from local produce.
