My First Okra Dish.

I have eaten Okra, but i have never cooked with it. So when i saw some at my local fruit and veg shop, i decided to dig in and hope for the best. I followed this recipe and it turned out well. My google searches came up with ideas to reduce the ‘slimey-ness’ such as soaking in white vinegar for at least 20 minutes, which i did prior to cooking and following the recipe.

It was just what i wanted and it would be good on a cold night or a warm evening with a beer. It was spicy and tangy and i served it with a plonk of rice in the middle, gumbo style. It was pretty cheap to make….less than $6 for a weeks worth of lunches or dinner for 4.
