I am not trying to change the world. I am selfish, i only want to change my world. I see my health and the health of my family as an important element of our lives. We can invest in our happiness and health everyday by the foods that we choose to consume. Education is key and i am always learning  about food and food production. I believe that it is vital that you research what you have heard or read about when it concerns food, food manufacturers, producers and food chains, so that you can independently develop your own understanding and knowledge about the the foods that you choose to consume.

What i am trying to do is to develop better eating habits by making conscious decisions about the food that i choose to eat, and spending my money at places that i am happy to support. My goal is to eat clean and feel positive about what i am chewing in my mouth. Fortunately for animals, this does not include eating them and i try to limit the consumption of by-products made from animals. It also means avoiding GMO foods where possible. I dabble with some natural super foods such as chia seeds, maca and goji berries and i enjoy raw delights such as raw chocolate and banana tart and raw chocolate and cherrie ice-cream.

Although i have completely finished with eating meats, on occassion i will eat a freshly caught fish if presented at our home by friends or neighbours. I try not to eat dairy products, however if i were to stumble upon  fresh, local organic cheese or yoghurt i would not be able to refuse. I am an enthusiast when it comes to making my own food, and i find a lot of satisfaction in creating raw foods at home such as chocolate pie and chocolate bliss balls as well as jars of coconut yoghurt and muesli, however i also love a hot bowl of freshly cooked freijoles and rice. Therefore, i cannot choose to commit myself to the label of being vegan, vegetarian or a raw foodist as i am flirting with all three ideas as i try to make it a lifestyle change.

The purpose of this blog is to keep track of my food experiences, recipes and links so that when i am trying to get my head around dinner or plan a sweet treat, i can just reference my blog and snatch a recipe or remember a link to a website that had some fantastic recipes.

Thank you for visiting my blog and happy eating 🙂
